(RTTNews) - The Swiss franc posted mixed performances versus its major counterparts on Wednesday in New York, including hitting a fresh 2-week high against the sterling.
The Swiss franc slid to a 5-day low against the U.S. dollar on Wednesday. The franc slipped to 1.2168 just after 10:00 am ET, down from 1.2055 in the early morning. Investors pondered reports showing U.S. employment fell more than expected in November.
Versus the euro, the franc dipped away from Monday's 2-week high on Wednesday. The franc eased to 1.5399 just before 11:00 am ET, down from 1.5268 in the mid-morning. Traders digested a report showing Euro zone retail sales declined more than expected in October.
Against the pound on Wednesday, the franc reached a fresh 2-week high. The franc rose to 1.7763 just after 5:00 am ET, up from an early morning low of 1.8034. Investors assessed a report showing the U.K. services sector fell more than expected in November.
