(RTTNews) - Suntech Power (STP) fell in pre-market trading, after reporting an accident in its module production facilities.
The stock was down 51 cents around 9:25 am ET, dropping to $6.87. If pre-market losses hold, the stock will open at its lowest level in a week.
Suntech Power announced an accident in its module production facilities that occurred due to the malfunction of a piece of module lamination equipment at PV module facilities in Wuxi, China.
The company noted that on November 28, 2008, seven of its employees were injured as a result of the accident, and are receiving further medical treatment.
The company also specified that its regular PV cell and module production and shipments were not impacted by the accident.
